Activated charcoal is charcoal obtained by heating wood at high temperatures, in an anaerobic environment, which leads to the development of a network of micropores. The difference is that after this burning, an activation process follows. During this process, the coal is subjected to a treatment with substances that unclog its pores, thus increasing its efficiency 6-10 times. The result is a product with a much better capacity to absorb various gases, microorganisms, toxic substances from the digestive tract.
Activated charcoal has the advantage of being able to be used in much smaller quantities than ordinary medicinal charcoal, but having stronger effects.
